My Mission
I know that when Founders who do an excellent job in their respective product or service category, who care about their customers and teams and who are trying to make a positive impact in the communities in which they operate grow in revenue, value gets created in the world and the world becomes a better place.
I'm on a mission to help the Founders create $1 billion dollars of extra value in the world by 2030. Ambitious? Yes. Crazy? Probably
Sean grew up in sales and whilst he broke numerous company records at Sensis (large media business) he realised he got more joy out of running goal setting and mindset workshops for his peers than he did doing the selling.
Sean became obsessed with personal development, leadership, strategy, operations, finance and marketing. He studied all the greats; Tony Robbins, Bryan Tracey, Jim Collins, Verne Harnish and so many more. He wanted to become a CEO as quickly as possible so he could serve more people and implement everything he was learning.
First he had to climb the ranks, do all those hard team leader and middle level management jobs, struggling through having young kids with health issues whilst travelling 60% of the time and more. Eventually he emerged from those years into some roles he felt he could have some big impact in.
In 2016 Sean was asked to put all his previous experience to the test to build an education portfolio for a publicly listed company. That company was called EdventureCo. This was his biggest challenge yet. The strategy hinged on succeeding in finding businesses to buy, acquiring them and then mentoring the Founders and their leadership teams to develop a strategy for growth and then execute it successfully.
This was a defining period in Sean's life, a "purple patch" if you like as he was able to truly test and refine the methodologies he'd been studying and refining for years and apply them to startups, small businesses and medium size businesses. He was able to figure out what worked and what didn't in practice (plenty didn't!) across multiple subsidiaries within the group and from this, refine his own methodologies for scaling. The portfolio grew from 3m to 50m in 4 years as a result of the amazing people Sean got to work with who executed brilliantly (who are still there today by the way... still scaling and now past 70m).
Over the 8 years between 2012 and 2020 as both a senior executive accountable for growth and as a Group CEO he helped 4 companies grow their revenues by over 100 million dollars and he knew that it was time to share what he learned with as many Founders as possible.
Enter ScaleHQ. Launched in 2020 under his personal brand and re-branded in 2023, ScaleHQ has a clear purpose: to help Founders with value to offer the world to fulfil their personal and business potential enabling them to scale.
Sean has now dedicated the rest of his working life to this pursuit and with his fantastic and growing team of Advisors, Mentors, Advisory Board chairs and the multi-disciplinary team that create all the back-of-house magic he looks forward to helping Founders create $1bn of additional value by 2030.
